Guide Dogs of America and Tender Loving Canines (GDA | TLC) is the charity of choice for the IAM. All year, IAM members around the country participate in fundraising activities to help raise money for this worthy charity.
The Pennsylvania State Council of Machinists actively participates each year and raises thousands of dollars to help these spectacular animals. The puppies help those who are blind or visually impaired, military veterans with PTSD, autistic children and more.
The Pennsylvania State Council of Machinist on June 11 gathered at a bowling alley in York, Pa., to raise money to the sum of $12,000.
“It always amazes me to see how this council has grown over the years and continues to expand and contribute to GDA | TLC,” said Pennsylvania State Council President Obie O’Brien. “The members truly love and enjoy helping this fine charitable organization.”
This year‘s evening event was the first time ever the Council was able to exclusively rent the entire bowling alley for the event. The committee conducted fundraising by holding 50-50 raffle and having donated raffle prizes making the night even more fun for the members that participated.
