“I want to thank International President Bryant for visiting my home shop and giving him a chance to see the good work and products our members build and maintain,” said Murtagh, who began his career at the Bryan Park CSX shop.
Along the shop tour, IP Bryant had a chance to meet with many members from the most senior to the newest to discuss what they work on.
“Anything that has to do with maintaining and repairing rail track this shop specializes on that equipment,” said Local 696 Vice President Karissa Tobinn. “The equipment we repair keeps the CSX railroad moving.”
“Our members are doing amazing work,” said Bryant. “It was a great opportunity to come out and visit our members to learn and see the work and product they produce. It was quite impressive how they take it from bare bones and build it or refurbish it.”
