IAM Eastern Territory General Vice President David T. Sullivan and IAM Eastern Territory Chief of Staff Chuck Herod recently met with several members of Local 698 and Local 435 at various locations in Michigan.
The visits included stops at Amentum in the Selfridge Air National Guard Base in Harrison Township, MI, and H.B. Fuller in Michigan Center, MI.
Grand Lodge Representative Bryan Stymacks and Grand Lodge Special Representative Neil Douglas also joined for the shop visits.
“It’s a privilege to see first-hand what IAM members do every day and to hear their feedback and concerns,” said IAM Eastern Territory General Vice President David T. Sullivan. “The dedication and commitment to their trade are critical to keeping our economy running and preserving national security.”
IAM members at Amentum-Selfridge Air National Guard Base are part of Local 698 and responsible for maintaining the U.S. Customs & Border Patrol (CBP) Blackhawks helicopters and other military aircraft. Their skills are crucial in strengthening our country’s border security operations.
H.B. Fuller is a wall-to-wall IAM unit and is represented by Local 435. These IAM members perform a wide range of essential occupations, including but not limited to handlers, laborers, journey mechanics and more. They are tasked with producing adhesives and sealants for many companies such as Firestone, Johns Mansville, Gorilla Glue, Red Devil, DAP, Sherwin Williams, Ford and Chrysler.
“The craftsmanship and talent that our members at Amentum and H.B. Fuller put into their work remind us that we, the IAM, are among the best in our industries,” said IAM Eastern Territory Chief of Staff Chuck Herod.
The visits were facilitated by IAM District Lodge 60, including Directing Business Representative Anthony Robbins, Assistant Directing Business Representative T. Scott Crider and Business Representative Heather Hildebrand.
